Bnot Sherut Arrive at Manhattan Day School

Manhattan Day School is thrilled to welcome Leah Fedida and Shalev Huri as the school’s bnot sherut representatives this year. Leah and Shalev arrived at MDS on Monday morning—in customized MDS bnot sherut swag, no less—and were welcomed by an excited group of first graders, waving Israeli flags and singing songs in Hebrew.

A deep love and a strong commitment to the State of Israel is core to the MDS mission, and the bnot sherut are part of a larger delegation of Israeli shlichim that represent the school’s dedication to this core value. The program is an integral means by which students are immersed in Israeli culture; the bnot sherut infuse the MDS educational experience with an awareness of and connection to Israel and Israeli culture around Jewish and Israeli holidays and major events.

“I look forward to getting to know the bnot sherut every year, and I was so excited to meet Leah and Shalev especially because I’m in eighth grade this year and it is my last chance to hang out with them at MDS,” said Bradyn Z.
