Book Meshuggenahs Launch Second Annual ‘Be a Shamash’ Contest

The Book Meshuggenahs are thrilled to announce their second annual “Be a Shamash” contest, which will run from October 3-November 18. This contest is inspired by the words of Rabbi David Wolpe, who said: “The Shamash is the candle that lights the others. Be a Shamash.”

To enter, email a photo and a few words about how you are being a Shamash to [email protected]. The contest is open to children of all ages.

The Grand Prize winner will receive a basket of autographed books written by Book Meshuggenah authors. Second and third prizes also to be presented. All entries will receive a certificate of participation.

Please include your name, age, grade, school and hometown. Schools are encouraged to enter. By sending a photo, you are giving permission for The Book Meshuggenahs to share it on social media and press materials. Celebrate your kindnesses and inspire others to help heal the world and Be a Shamash.

The Book Meshuggenahs group is a resource for the Jewish community, providing and promoting high quality, diverse Jewish-themed children’s books, educational resources and opportunities, including two annual free contests for children and adults to share their creativity and good deeds.
