An annual BPY highlight, kitah hey continued the tradition this year and read from the Megilla with the teamim. They learned about the meaning of the teamim (cantillation notes) and how it can elucidate the text. The students read according to the custom of their ancestral home—what a statement of achdut! They read so beautifully. Kol hakavod to each and every student! During their special mishmar, the fifth graders engaged in a chesed activity, packaging mishloach manot for those in need and learned together about the meaning of simcha and how it is possible to really reach that height of simcha on Purim.
