On Monday, June 17, BPY eighth graders celebrated their graduation. The 35 seniors were feted with a beautifully decorated auditorium, and a program that highlighted their wonderful accomplishments. Students heard warm words from Rabbi Zucker and from Howard Kestenbaum, president of the board of trustees (and parent of a graduate), as well as beautiful speeches from student representatives Daniel Jacob (in Hebrew) and Sadie Kestenbaum (in English). As they were called up to receive their diplomas, faculty members reflected briefly on each student with fond memories and words of bracha. The students themselves presented a video—a recollection of life at BPY—and the past shlichim who are currently back home in Israel sent a video with their memories and wishes. As everyone wishes this stellar class the greatest success in their future, there is so much pride in their achievements in the areas of academics and middot. Ninety-one percent of the class were admitted to their first-choice high school—another banner year of unparalleled accomplishment at BPY. BPY graduates will continue to return “home” to share their ongoing hatzlacha, b’ezrat Hashem. Mazal tov and Mabrook to the wonderful BPY graduates!
