Since October 7, as a school, BPY has made an effort to show hakarat hatov to the chayalim who defend Israel. On Veterans Day, classes focussed on the American soldiers who have served and played a significant role in preserving and fighting for our freedoms. In class students learned about Veterans Day and spent time reflecting on the freedoms that Americans cherish. To show hakarat hatov to local veterans, BPY partnered with the Paramus Veterans Memorial Home to find a special project that students could make for the veterans who reside there. On Veterans Day, the home holds a special celebration for the resident veterans. BPY students created beautiful handcrafted centerpieces that were placed on each table and will be used throughout the year to bring smiles to the residents. The centerpieces were covered in sweet and thoughtful notes and drawings that the students lovingly made for the veterans, thanking them for their bravery, and letting them know how appreciated they are! BPY students are so thankful to all veterans and hope they know that it is not just on Veterans Day that they are appreciated!
