When the attack in New Zealand occurred, Mrs. Maron, BPY’s general studies principal met with the eighth grade students to discuss the importance of standing up for what is right and not being bystanders. Although it is crucial to react to events that target Jews, it is also important to take a stand against all injustices and crimes against humanity. Students decided to show their empathy for what happened in New Zealand by sending a letter to the eighth graders at Darul Arqam who they met during the breaking barriers program earlier this year. Under the guidance of Morah Debbie Schwartz, the students crafted a letter to send as a show of solidarity and compassion.
