BPY Enjoys Private Movie Screening

The fifth grade students enjoyed reading the class novel, “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe” by C.S. Lewis as part of their fantasy reading unit. They learned that the fantasy genre has specific literary elements in it. The students identified the different literary elements such as: quest, concept of time, good vs. evil, lessons learned and magical creatures. As a celebration of the end of their unit, the fifth graders watched the movie after school. The students were treated to pizza and nosh during the movie. The students were happy that they were able to enjoy the movie together in a COVID-safe manner. It was very exciting to be able to compare and contrast the movie and the book!
