This past week, the fifth grade students at BPY participated in many different forms of chesed and spread the chain of maasim tovim. The fifth grade captains led their grade in school chesed activities such as organizing the lost and found, helping out in the front office, packing packages for the homeless shelter and making holiday cards for children in the hospital. They also repaired over 50 ripped Siddurim and organized the beit midrash for the middle school students. It was also important for the students to do chesed at home. Their parents were encouraged to acknowledge their children’s good deeds by funding their “chesed tickets.” For every dollar earned at home, BPY will match the students’ earnings and the students will decide to which tzedaka organization they want to donate!
