This past Sunday, the Ben Porat Yosef first graders received their first siddur!

For the past two weeks, the students were so excited to practice their part in the Siddur play. The rehearsal was in Hebrew and the students got to learn new words in Ivrit. The Friday before the mesibah, the students had a small party in the class where they got to say goodbye to the Siddurim they have been davening with since the beginning of the year.

During the mesibah, the students performed songs and prayers from the Jewish life: Modeh Ani, Shabbat songs, prayers for the children and concluded with a very moving tefillah l’shlom hamedina.

At the end of the celebration, parents watched beautiful videos of every child’s personal prayer and received a souvenir magnet with the child’s picture and prayer to capture the moment.

The Mesibat Siddur paved the way for the beginning of tefillah learning and the love and passion for Hebrew.
