This past week in the BPY GrowTorah garden, students got to experience the parsha lesson firsthand. When Yaakov awakens from his dream, Rashi teaches that the sun helped him heal from wrestling with the angel. As they worked in the cold, they felt the power of the sun and thanked Hashem for giving them such a wonderful gift that nourishes and heals. The sun is so strong that even though it was freezing, it still helped some plants continue to grow. Students were able to pick carrots, beets and radish for tzedaka. They even got to snack on some parsley and chives in the garden. All of this continued growth is thanks to the sun!
