BPY’s music program is hitting all of the high notes! This year the students will be experimenting with many different instruments as well as learning songs and listening and moving to the music. The younger students will be using unpitched and pitched percussion instruments. The older students will learn to play the recorders while starting to read the sheet music and learn rhythms and harmony. They will also learn to play some songs in unison. The fifth graders started a new program called group keyboards. The students are learning to play songs on the keyboards while reading notes, learning to listen to each other and play in a group setting. Everyone is excited to hear the BPY maestros in action!
