BPY Introduces Big Brother/Big Sister Program

BPY’s shlichim Morah Odelya and Rav Ido Suissa initiated a groundbreaking program for some elementary and middle students. The goal of this program is to foster a close relationship between the third grade and sixth grade students through in depth learning and interactive and collaborative activities. The students also learn about the significance of chesed and giving. Each week, a number of third and sixth graders meet at the Suissa home. During the sessions, students play interactive and collaborative games and then are divided into chavrutot, and together they study on the subject of kindness and giving. In addition, sixth graders present social situations, and third graders think about how they would have acted in these situations. To conclude the session, the students play a Blooket game. When the program wraps at the end of the year, they will host a final meeting with both grades and participate in a chesed activity!
