In second grade, in addition to the amazing academic lessons that Morah Aliza, Morah Naava, Morah Shevy and Morah Miriam prepare for their students each day, this second grade team also takes time to continue to support the second graders’ social/emotional growth. On each Friday, the teachers focus on a different lesson that helps the students deal with their current situation. On the first Friday, the students talked about the Middah of the Month: perseverance. They wrote thank you letters to someone who helped them get through the first week of BPY BaBayit. Last week, the teachers helped the students recognize that although there are many challenges caused by school being closed, there are also some very special highlights from their week. The students were so excited to share their own highlights, both related to school and their family experiences. This week, the students will be learning about growth mindset and the very special word “YET.” BPY teaches the whole child. BPY is so proud of their students and the way in which they are handling this unique experience!
