BPY Presents ‘The Music Man Junior’

On Sunday March 13, over 30 Ben Porat Yosef students from third to eighth grade performed “The Music Man Junior” to two sold out shows! Director and Choreographer Rebecca Lopkin, of Envision Theater, and her talented team of Nathan Kruman, musical director, and Beth Selter, assistant director, began working with the children in October. This is BPY’s first live show since the pandemic shut down their production of “Seussical” in 2020. The actors and audience alike were thrilled to be part of a live theater production—the energy was palpable in the air. Seven eighth graders, many of whom had participated in BPY’s theater productions since the third grade, were awarded graduation medallions after the curtain call at the second show. Lopkin called each student to center stage, listed each of their show credits and then placed the medallion over their head. Afterwards the eighth graders took center stage and took their final bows on the BPY stage in what was truly an event for the ages. Stay tuned to see what next year’s show will be!
