Ben Porat Yosef fifth grade students, under the guidance of Rabbi Acoca, the school’s rav beit hasefer, and Rav Haim, fifth grade Judaic studies teacher, raised over $500 for Project Ezrah’s “Maot Chitim” campaign before Pesach. Students learned about the age-old Jewish tradition to ensure that everyone has the necessary provisions to be able to property observe and celebrate the chag. Robert Hoenig, executive director of Project Ezrah, visited the students to speak about this great zchut and to thank them for their ongoing commitment to performing acts of chesed.
