BPY Recreates Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory

After reading about Willy Wonka’s magical factory, in Roald Dahl’s magical book, the students had a blast melting and molding their very own chocolate bars. They had so much fun pretending to be Oompa Loompas working in the factory. They also learned the importance of matanot l’evyonim on Purim. Inspired by these two ideas, the students made their own chocolate store and invited some pre-k friends to buy chocolate from the shop. Signs were made, prices decided upon and advertised. They delivered a special golden ticket, just like the children in the story received! Then they opened for business and helped their friends pick out some delicious treats. The students even made up their own Oompa Loompa riddle for the factory guests to enjoy! The students can’t wait to donate the money collected to tzedaka.
