BPY Second Grade Students Celebrate Mesibat Chumash

This past Sunday, the BPY second grade celebrated their Mesibat Chumash with tremendous excitement. The students performed a play about parshat Lech Lecha which the students recently learned. The theme of the mesiba centered on Am Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael and Torat Yisrael, and featured the students reenacting the story of Avaraham Avinu leaving Charan. They even included the argument between Avraham’s and Lot’s shepherds. Family and friends felt the love and passion of the students and their connection to Eretz Yisrael. The second graders sang and danced, and for the grand finale, each student was the star of the show when he or she read a pasuk from the Torah—with te’amim, some in Sephardic te’amim and some in Ashkenazic te’amim! BPY’s blessing for the second graders is that they will always be happy to learn Torah and follow in the footsteps of our avot and imahot!
