Ben Porat Yosef second grade students used Chinese puzzles, called tangrams, to develop a stronger sense of spatial relationships, geometry, problem solving skills and general mathematics. Each Tangram set had seven pieces—two large triangles, one medium triangle, two small triangles, a parallelogram and a square. The students were challenged with the puzzles and enjoyed creating animals and shapes from their tangram sets.
