Like many shaken parents, Maxine and Rabbi Hayyim Angel spoke to their daughters, Aviva and Dahlia, about the unspeakable tragedy at the Tree of Life Congregation in Pittsburgh. They discussed the pain we all felt at the loss of fellow Jews, Americans and humans.
Aviva and Dahlia were frightened and took the news deeply to heart. The next day, they came up with an innovative idea, on their own, to try to help the community in Pittsburgh. Having recently taken up the pogo stick, they suggested to their parents that they would put on a show, “Pogo for Pittsburgh,” in the hopes that people would come and make contributions that would go to the bereaved community.
Dahlia and Aviva are second graders at Ben Porat Yosef Yeshiva Day School in Paramus, where communal involvement and chesed are high priorities.
They will put on their pogo stick show on Sunday, November 25, at 10:00 a.m. For location information, please email their parents at [email protected].
