BPY Sixth Graders Tour Lower East Side

Ben Porat Yosef sixth grade students headed down to the Lower East Side on Tuesday, April 19 for a guided walking tour of the area. The trip included a visit to the Museum at Eldridge Street, Loew’s Canal Street Movie Palace and the Forward building. After a picnic lunch in Seward Park, the first municipally built playground in New York City, the students headed over to the Pickle Guys. They then toured the inside of the Eldridge Street Synagogue and learned about the important role it played in the lives of American Jewish immigrants.
