BPY Students Learn About ‘Understanding Differences’

Last week, as part of the fourth grade ‘Understanding Differences’ program, Ben Porat Yosef fourth grade students had an opportunity to speak with Eli Gorelik, a young man who works with the Yachad vocational program. He told the students about his work at BPY in the library, at the Yeshivat Noam cafeteria, and at Seasons, a kosher supermarket in Clifton, NJ. Eli also told the students about his experiences both at Yachad and at Camp HASC, which he has been attending since he was a young child, and at the different jobs he had working around the camp during the summer. The students asked many great questions and at the end of the session, one of the fourth graders presented Eli with a gift of BPY swag and Eli gave all of the students Yachad post-it notes. Eve Yudelson, a former BPY parent, and Leora Verbit spoke with the students about Yachad in more detail after Eli’s presentation. The program proved to be an enriching experience.
