In conjunction with their study of biomes, on Wednesday, February 21, Ben Porat Yosef third grade students visited the Botanical Gardens’ desert and rainforest exhibits. Students have also been learning in their science class about how plants adapt, survive and live in the extreme environments of the rainforest and desert. On the trip, students looked for examples of adaptations that help plants live and adjust to their environment, offering an experiential way for them to integrate what they learned in the classroom about photosynthesis and transpiration. Students also had time for a leisurely nature walk outside.
