For the past three years, BPY has had the privilege of participating in the Truman Scholars Program. This is a two year enrichment program for seventh and eighth graders. Students in the program participate in high-level seminars taught by master teachers in the field. The courses focus on foundational ideas and great leaders from both the United States and Israel. Together, students and faculty explore the relationships between the two countries. At the beginning of the month, the current scholars and their parents were invited to an enlightening presentation by Dr. Erica Brown, as part of the opening event for this semester. She spoke about the importance of deliberate and informed decision mak-ing and connected her ideas to Judaism. It was wonderful to get a taste of the amazing lectures and seminars that are available to the scholars. This year, BPY is proud to welcome Nikki Attar, Pearl Mitrani and Natalie Solomon to this unique learning community.
