The second annual meeting of Teaneck Southern and TBO softball was action packed from the opening pitch. TBO scored 4 in the top of the first, but Southern answered back with 5 runs in the bottom of the same inning.
Excitement to the game was added when the game had to be halted by the inadvertent running of the sprinklers.
At the end of five innings Teaneck Southern doubled up TBO and tied the series 1-1. TBO won last year’s Bragging Rights softball game and will have to wait till next spring for the tie- breaker game.
It was a pleasure to witness Teaneck Southern and TBO working together to expand sports in the Teaneck community. In addition to the bragging rights games, they played several interleague regular season games at Votee Park and Apreda Field. This year some of the Teaneck Southern girls even played in the TBO 10U All-Star game.
Linda Padilla Diaz (softball director at Teaneck Southern) told the JLBC, “It is a really nice sports partnership in the township of Teaneck. The ‘bragging rights’ game is a nice cap to the season.”
