(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) On Monday evening, September 4, on the lawn of Congregation Shomrei Torah, the communities of Hillside, Elizabeth and Union got together for an end-of-the-year Hakhel gathering. The children and their parents had a wonderful time. They enjoyed rides, games, a barbecue and an atmosphere of achdut. The highlight of the event was when the children said pesukim of Torah, and Rabbi Avremy, youth and Torah education director, blew the shofar for them. This served as a reminder for everyone to prepare for the holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. He ended by wishing everyone a Shana Tova U’metuka.
