(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) Bris Avrohom continues to celebrate our 10th anniversary at Newark International Airport with our information stand, aided by the support of the staff of El Al and Port Authority. In recent months, rabbis of Bris Avrohom helped over 500 people put on tefillin; for over 100 of them, it was their first time.
Several significant achievements occurred at the airport this year in the month of Av. On Tisha B’Av, Rabbi Avremy Kanelsky, who oversees the stand, arranged for the El Al travelers to be able to hear the reading of the Torah before their flight. They davened Mincha at the stand and heard the designated portion of the Torah. This was the first Torah reading at Newark International Airport. Bris Avrohom was granted a room to hold the Torah by the Port Authority.
On Tu B’Av, Rabbi Avremy Kanelsky held a celebration with the staff of El Al. He extended great gratitude to the people that help with the tefillin; Rabbi Dovid Wilansky; and Dovid Hoffer; as well as Sarah Wilansky, who comes to distribute the Shabbos candles to travelers.
