Bris Avrohom recently held its eighth annual bar mitzvah celebration in Israel for youths from Be’er Sheva and Sderot, who were from the former Soviet Union and victims of terror. Rabbi Zalman Gorelik, executive director, Be’er Sheva, and Rabbi Chananel Pizem, Chabad Sderot, prepared the youths for their bar mitzvah. They rejoiced at this celebration with their parents and grandparents.
The festivities included each bar mitzvah boy being called up to the Torah at the Kotel, followed by an elaborate meal with music and dancing. The bar mitzvah boys were given a pair of tefillin and tallit. The fathers were presented with a tallit, the mother with Shabbat candles and the families received a kiddush cup, a siddur and Chumash.
This annual event is sponsored by Bris Avrohom.
