Bris Avrohom Commemorates 15th Yahrzeit of Bat Sheva Kanelsky, z”l

On Sunday, February 4, 100 women gathered at Bris Avrohom Cong. Shomrei Torah Ohel Yosef Yitzchok to commemorate the 15th Yahrzeit of Bat Sheva Kanelsky, z”l, daughter of Rabbi Mordechai & Rebbetzin Shterney Kanelsky. Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky is executive director and Shterney Kanelsky is associate director of Bris Avrohom. Bat Sheva, z”l, was only 65 days old when she passed away. Rabbi Kanelsky spoke about the tremendous influence this little neshama had for countless others who did and continue to do mitzvahs in her merit. Mrs. Kanelsky spoke about the two permanent tributes done in her memory. A Torah scroll was written and is used daily at Bris Avrohom. A state-of-the-art, spa-like mikvah was built that bears her name and is used daily by women who immerse for Tahara (purity). Mrs. Kanelsky also composed a song in her memory culminating with the yearning for the ultimate resurrection with the coming of Moshiach when we would all be united with her.

The audience was inspired by Sarah Karmely, a lecturer and counselor for over 20 years in the field of family purity, relationships and marriage, who spoke about the mystique of a peaceful home. Attendees were treated to a lavish buffet luncheon followed by sumptuous desserts. Donations may be made in Bat Sheva’s memory to the Bat Sheva Chaya Esther Mikvah for its maintenance and decor, or you may contact Shterney Kanelsky at 908-391-7874.
