Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky made a siyum for the conclusion of the 40th cycle of Rambam, and shared about the last halacha of the Rambam that speaks about the coming of Moshiach. Rabbi Kanelsky concluded that the Rambam is teaching us that with every single opportunity we have, we should utilize it to pray for the coming of Moshiach.
As such when a siyum is concluded, one begins to learn the entire cycle anew from the beginning. Rabbi Levi Garelik, who was the keynote speaker, commenced his address with the beginning of the 41st cycle of Rambam. Rabbi Garelik shared personal stories of his parents who were sent by the Rebbe in 1958 as emissaries to Milan, Italy, as well as various stories from the Rebbe. Rabbi Garelik imparted words of wisdom about how each and every one of us should and can do our utmost to prepare for the coming of Moshiach, by encouraging one more Jew to do just one more mitzvah.
A full fleishig dinner was served. This event was sponsored by the Libson and Kanchik families in honor of the 27th yahrzeit of their father Gregory Libson, z”l.
