(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) Pesach starts with the children asking four questions about the Pesach Seder and the obligation of the father to answer them and to teach them everything about our Exodus from Egypt and the birth of our Jewish nation. Being that the children play such an important role in the upcoming Pesach holiday, Bris Avrohom of Fair Lawn and C.E.T.T. Hebrew School distributed handmade shmurah matzah to all its students on Sunday, March 26.
Following the distribution, the children were excited to experience the process of baking matzah with the help of a model matzah bakery. Rabbi Mendel and Elky Zaltzman, the directors of C.E.T.T. Hebrew School, explained to the children how matzah is made. In addition, they impressed upon them the importance of having the special gift of handmade shmurah matzah from Israel at their Pesach Seder, bonding them to the Jewish people in Israel.
In attendance were elected officials who also received handmade shmurah matzah and gave out proclamations in honor of the holiday of Passover. They proclaimed Bris Avrohom’s dedication of 121 days of education beginning on April 2. This auspicious date is the 121st anniversary of the birth of their founder, The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M Schnearson of blessed memory.
