Bris Avrohom held its Ninth Annual Gala Father & Son Bar Mitzvah Celebration in Israel. Each one of the participants took a course to prepare for his bar mitzvah. They all received a pair of Tefillin; a certificate of bar mitzvah signed by Rabbi Rabinowitz, the chief rabbi of the Kotel; and an aliyah to the Torah at the Kotel. Following the services at the Kotel, the families travelled to Kfar Chabad, where a festive dinner with a live band and a full celebration followed. The bar mitzvah honorees were picked up on the shoulders and danced as the guests clapped their hands and sang. At the conclusion of the party each family received Tallit and Tefillin, Shabbat candles, a Kiddush cup and a challah tray, essential gifts that they will use for the rest of their lives.
