(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) On Rosh Chodesh Teves, Bris Avrohom celebrated the bar mitzvah of Benjamin Murkis, when the boy had his first aliyah l’Torah. Benjamin’s grandfather was in attendance, where he had the privilege to put on tefillin for the first time in his life! The joy in the room was palpable, seeing a grandfather and grandson celebrating a bar mitzvah at the same moment.

It was thrilling to watch the grandfather open the ark, his son remove the sefer Torah, and proceed to give it to the bar mitzvah boy to carry to the bimah. Three generations cherishing the Torah at once. The merriment continued with l’chaim and siman tov u’mazel tov all around.
