Bris Avrohom Inaugurates Jewish Information Stand At Newark Int’l Airport

(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) After 10 years of successfully serving the Jewish community with an information stand at Newark Airport Terminal B, there was a great demand for a similar stand at Terminal A. At the Jewish Information Stand, people can don tefillin; and tefilot haderech cards, Shabbos candles for women and Jewish literature in multiple languages are distributed. To date, thousands of people have put on tefillin throughout the terminals, many of them for their first time. In addition, El Al staff celebrate the Jewish holidays throughout the year with Rabbi Avremy Kanelsky, who runs the activities at the airport.

Fabuwood donated the beautiful stand and two representatives of the company attended the inaugural event. Also present at the event was General Manager-New Jersey Airports Sarah McKeon; Frank Radics, manager of physical plant and redevelopment, NJ Airports; and Stefan Fornasier, COO at Munich Airport NJ and Terminal A.

The event was arranged by Rabbi Avremy and Chaya Kanelsky. Rabbi Avremy spoke of the accomplishments of the Jewish Information Stand and thanked the management for their complete cooperation.

Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky thanked the Port Authority for partnering with Bris Avrohom not just with the information stand but also with the menorah lightings on Chanukah around New Jersey.

McKeon also spoke and thanked Bris Avrohom for the opportunity to assist travelers with all their needs at all terminals.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, David Bandovich of Terminal A donned tefillin. Food was graciously sponsored by Fresco, the leading kosher distributor of food at the airports.
