(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) On Lag B’Omer, the Bris Avrohom community of Hillside and Cheder Yaldei Menachem had the privilege to march in the Great Parade at 770 Eastern Parkway, Chabad Headquarters. The theme of this year’s parade was Jewish Unity. The 12 pesukim and maamarei Chazal (sayings of the Sages) which the Rebbe asked to recite were said by all, as well as Tehillim and prayers for the hostages and our brothers and sisters in Israel.

The righteous Reb Shimon Bar Yochai, whose yahrzeit we commemorate on Lag B’Omer, asked that people be joyous on that special day. Since 1943, following the guidance of the Rebbe, a parade has been held where children march and display their Jewish pride.

The 180 people who joined from the Bris Avrohom Hillside community were honored to be part of such a grand parade. Certainly, in the merit of the children who recited words of Torah, gave tzedaka and prayed in unison, we will be rewarded with the great revelation of Moshiach Tzidkeinu.
