(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) Erecting over 140 menorahs over the holiday of Chanukah, Bris Avrohom has been lighting up New Jersey. The festivities began with an invocation at the New Jersey Assembly where Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky explained to the Assembly the message of Chanukah. He encouraged the assembled to be lamplighters, each one in their own community. This is done by lighting up the world by increasing one good deed each day, just as we increase with one candle each day of Chanukah.
Among the highlights of the menorah lightings was a ceremony in the office of U.S. Senator Robert Menendez. Another was the lighting with New Jersey Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver. At her office, a brunch was held for all agencies under her jurisdiction.
