Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky of Bris Avrohom was invited by Assemblywoman Lisa Swain and Assemblyman Chris Tully to deliver the invocation at the New Jersey State Assembly for the last session of 2018. At the invocation Rabbi Kanelsky stressed the important concept of giving charity and the belief in “In God We Trust” that is displayed on the dollar bill. Rabbi Kanelsky encouraged all the members present to be lamplighters in their own communities. After the invocation Rabbi Kanelsky presented charity boxes from Israel to Speaker of the General Assembly Craig Coughlin, Assemblywoman Lisa Swain and Assemblyman Chris Tully.
