Leading into Chag Pesach, Bruriah High School and Middle School students had the distinct honor of hearing from Rav Elazar Mayer Teitz, the rav ha’ir of Elizabeth and dean of the Jewish Education Center, for a Pesach Q&A session. Bruriah is fortunate to be guided by Rav Teitz, a gadol b’Torah who has been involved with Bruriah since its founding., and Bruriah students are privileged to be the beneficiaries of Rav Teitz’s immense Torah knowledge and expertise.
In advance of the Q&A session, students submitted questions on a wide variety of topics pertaining to Pesach and beyond. Rav Teitz touched on hilchos Pesach, addressing questions about kashering ovens and counters, using cosmetics and perfumes on Pesach, and going shopping on Chol Hamoed. Rav Teitz also touched on some of the history of the Haggadah. He also discussed some of the philosophical aspects of Pesach, answering questions pertaining to avdus, cheirus and the geulah. Rav Teitz ended the Q&A session with the hope that all of next year’s questions will all pertain to the korban pesach in Yerushalayim.
Bruriah is grateful to Rav Teitz for equipping students with tremendous insights and perspectives on Chag HaPesach.
