The Yom Hazikaron at Bruriah is a meaningful and powerful experience that brings the school community together to remember and honor those who have given their lives for Israel. This year, Bruriah held a meaningful tekes to commemorate fallen soldiers and victims of terror.

This heartfelt program was organized by Bruriah’s AISAC committee, Bruriah’s student organization dedicated to Israel advocacy and education at Bruriah. The program was led by senior Nechama Linfield who heads the AISAC committee, and was joined by Ms. Lior Morgenshtern, a former member of the IDF. Morgenshtern was able to share her firsthand perspectives of what it means to serve in the Israeli army. After an informative Q&A with Morgenshtern, the program continued with Bruriah students highlighting specific victims of terror as well as Israeli soldiers who gave their lives for the state of Israel. The tekes concluded on a more uplifting note, with the entire school making a siyum on Pirkei Avot l’ilui neshamot Lucy, Maia and Rina Dee. Bruriah students all walked away with a strong  connection to the importance of Yom Hazikaron.
