During these incredibly trying times, Bruriah is looking to create as many opportunities as possible to connect to our brothers and sisters in Israel. Bruriah has unveiled many initiatives, through tefillah, fundraising and sending packages to chayalim. Last week, another such initiative, Solider 2 Solider, was unveiled at Bruriah. Soldier 2 Soldier is an organization in Israel that pairs chayalim with individuals learning in yeshiva or kollel who will learn Torah on their behalf. Amy Tropp, Bruriah’s beloved Navi teacher and 11th grade advisor, reached out to the organization to have each Bruriah homeroom paired with a soldier. The door of each homeroom class now bears the name of the soldier for whom that class is learning.
Mrs. Tropp learned of this beautiful initiative from her son who is learning in Eretz Yisrael who added his cousins fighting in the army, as well as himself to learn on behalf of a soldier. Mrs. Tropp explained to the students that the essence of this program boils down to achdus, as everyone works to foster a bond that transcends geographical boundaries to join together to build something bigger. In the zechus of this achdus, may we merit to hear good news from Eretz Yisrael in the coming days.
