Bruriah Lightning visited Ilan for an intense and important game. The last time these 2 teams met, Ilan won by a small margin of 3 points, but Bruriah was ready to take this game. Coming off of a big win against Magen David, Bruriah started the game off strong. Although Ilan played tough, on ball defense, Bruriah was prepared for the aggressive game and played with equal intensity. At the end of the first half, Bruriah lead by a score of 15-13. During halftime, Coach Rifkin told Bruriah to just keep playing the way they were and to continue going after every rebound and loose ball. In the beginning of the 3rd quarter, Bruriah quickly scored 2 baskets and extended its lead to 6 points. Tough defense by Shayna Schwartz, Shayna Rozensweig, and Rachel Eckstein kept Ilan’s scoring to a minimum, while fast breaks by Avigayil Weiner and outside shots from both Eliana Alter and Rachel Hershkowitz continued to help Bruriah. With a final score of 29-23, Bruriah improved its record to 9-2 and will host Sha’are Torah in its final game of the regular season.
