The Bruriah Class of 2023 celebrated four years filled with academic accomplishments, personal growth and unforgettable memories. From the day they walked into Bruriah, the Class of 2023 has embraced opportunities, forged relationships and overcome challenges. The end of their time at Bruriah was celebrated last week, first with a beautiful Senior Night program on Wednesday followed by graduation on Sunday.
Senior Night welcomed graduates and their parents, along with faculty and staff, to celebrate their Bruriah journey. It was an opportunity for the graduates to express gratitude to their incredible teachers who supported them throughout their four years. It also provided the opportunity to celebrate each graduate individually, highlighting their unique contributions to the Class of 2023. Senior awards were presented to students excelling in academic studies, Torah studies, humanities, middos tovos, chesed and community service. In a particularly moving moment, Joanne Asher presented the Elana Asher Rosenblatt Memorial Award for Outstanding Ahavat Yisrael to Molly Naftaliev for exemplifying the beautiful qualities that Bruriah alumna Elana Asher Rosenblatt z”l (BHS 1988) was known for.
Bruriah graduation was a beautiful culmination of four wonderful years. The program began with the valedictory address delivered by Elana Pascher and the salutatory address by Riki Kaminer, who excelled in rigorous course loads in both limudei kodesh and general studies and will be attending Michlalah next year. The graduates then heard divrei bracha from Rav Elazar M. Teitz, and received their diplomas from Bruriah Principal Dr. Bethany Strulowitz, who said, “We are so proud of the graduates of Bruriah High School’s Class of 2023 and the beautiful, kind, caring, intelligent, thoughtful and confident young women they have become.”
Graduates will be attending many of the most sought after post-high school programs including Michlalah, MMY, Tomer Devora, Midreshet Tehillah, Tiferet, Shaalavim, Darchei Bina and Meohr Bais Yaakov. Likewise, the graduates were accepted to preeminent universities and colleges, including Stern College, S. Daniel Abraham Honors Program at Stern College, Lander College for Women, LCW Honors Program, New York University, Rutgers and CUNY, earning prestigious merit scholarships.
The Bruriah Class of 2023 now join the illustrious cadre of Bruriah alumnae that spans the globe.
