Bruriah Culture Club Goes to the Met

An optional educational school trip on a Sunday? Yes please!

Bruriah’s Culture Club took a trip to New York City on Sunday with Director of Academic Enrichment and English Department Chair Margueya Poupko. They heard an incredible lecture from Professor Jacob Wisse on the evolution of art. After lunch, they headed to The Met where they met up with art historian and high school educator Nancy Edelman who led them through the Chroma exhibition, as well as Baroque, Renaissance and other paintings. According to 11th grader Devorah Fisch, “This trip gave us not only an understanding of art throughout history but Jewish culture as well, and it was fun to take our learning outside of the classroom and into New York City!” Everyone looks forward to future cultural excursions throughout the year. Thank you to Mrs. Poupko for organizing such a thoroughly enjoyable and enriching trip.
