The Bruriah Lightning got off to a slow start when the team visited Frisch for its fourth game of the season. Entering the game with an impressive 3-0 record, the visitors found themselves down 4-3 halfway through the game. Daphna Becker led off the 5 th with a solo home run, tying the score at 4. A few batters later, Elisheva Pfeiffer stepped into the batter’s box and hit a triple with the bases loaded. Bruriah then held Frisch scoreless in the bottom of the 5th and only gave up two more runs for the rest of the game. With a final score of 7-6, Bruriah kept its perfect season alive.
The following night, Bruriah played a double header vs. Kushner. The Lightning won their first game with a monstrous two-run homer off the bat of Dassy Dominitch. In the second game, Bruriah dominated the whole game, holding Kushner scoreless until the bottom of the 4th. The final score 14-5, extended their record to a perfect 6-0.
On Wednesday night, Bruriah visited Ramaz for game #7. Although Bruriah was missing some crucial players, it was able to hold it together and win. With hits from Daphna Becker, Eliana Alter, Dassy Dominitch, and Shira Allen, the Lightning took the lead early. Superb pitching by Basya Goldstein and great fielding by first-baseman Meira Motechin held Ramaz to just 3 runs the entire game. With a final score of 9-3, Bruriah stays on top with a record of 7-0 and will host Heschel for the final game of the regular season.
