Bruriah Lightning Strikes Against Ma’ayanot Rapids

On the eve of November 14, Bruriah welcomed the Ma’ayanot Rapids to their home court in Elizabeth and were looking to add another win to their 1-0 record. With all 12 girls rearing and ready to go, the Lightning came out strong and ready to strike. Though the Rapids attempted to put up a fight, they quickly discovered they were no match for the unstoppable Lightning, as several failed serves gave Bruriah a multiple point lead. Bruriah’s Avigail Sheinbein retaliated with incredible serving of her own and when the Rapids did get their serves over, Mimi Reiger was there to stop them. The rest of the team played a hard offense, with the help of Rachel Goldman and her numerous kills. Bruriah easily took the first match with a ten-point division of 25-15.

The second match was Ma’ayanot’s last chance to pull through, but Bruriah’s consistently strong defense kept the ball off the floor. Sisters Arielle and Kayla Miodownik joined forces with Eliana Teichman to dominate with their spiking and earn the Lightning the few points they needed to pull ahead. Together with their fantastic teamwork and contagious energy, Bruriah won the second match with a score of 25-19, as well as their second win of the season. With two wins and no losses, the Lightning find themselves tied for first with the Magen David Warriors.
