Bruriah Lightning Volleyball Strikes First

Back and better than ever, the Bruriah Volleyball B League team traveled to Brooklyn for their first game of the 2016-2017 season against Shulamith. The Lightning wasted no time in proving themselves to the Dynamite, who just barely took the first round with a score of 26-24. Captains Chani Klavan and Arielle Wenig kept everyone on their toes with their graceful taps and hardcore spiking. Avigail Sheinbein and Chana Eli Rhodes exhibited their bumping skills and helped Bruriah take the lead. Sophomore Mimi Rieger earned the team multiple points with her serves, while the combined forces of juniors Rachelli Benoff, Arielle Miodownik and Rivki Hook allowed Bruriah to take the next two rounds, resulting in scores of 21-25 and 13-25 and the first win of the season. The team celebrated with a round of Dunkin’ Donuts on Friday as they toasted to a game well played and hopefully the start of a successful season as they prepare to face Shulamith once again.
