On November 11, the entire Bruriah Middle School came together for a commemoration of Kristallnacht. Exploring the theme “Out of Darkness Comes Light,” the exceptionally talented Dr. Melanie Gottdenger led a discussion of hope shining through despair.
The program continued outside, by joining the Daffodil Project, in cooperation with the Jewish Federation of Greater Metrowest NJ’s Center for Volunteerism and Holocaust Council. Students and staff planted daffodils in Bruriah’s Holocaust Garden. The students’ participation is part of the project’s greater goal of planting 1.5 million daffodils in memory of the 1.5 million children who perished in the Holocaust.
