In true Bruriah Middle School fashion, students welcomed incoming students with food, fun and facts at the annual welcome luncheon. Carrying through its theme, “We’re a brand of our own,” each grade contributed to make the luncheon memorable. The sixth grade presented a G.O. student council song and prepared newspaper with information about school; Seventh grade students created information and activity booths connected to brand names, such as Staples, Rita’s, Starbucks and Instagram. The eighth graders gave incoming students a tour of the building. The luncheon concluded with a video about middle school and a student panel answering questions from incoming students. Several of the fifth graders stated they were excited and can’t wait to join the middle school in September. The welcome luncheon is a highlight of the year for middle-school students to interact with the new students.
