For the last few weeks, more than 80% of Bruriah students have been endlessly working to produce the annual Mother-Daughter performance, performed on Sunday (twice) and Monday this week. This performance aims to showcase all the students’ talents, incorporating acting, dancing and singing, as well as offstage roles such as sound, lights, curtains and more. This year’s production, “Hi Tithallal,” emphasizes the important role of Jewish women throughout history, including Rut and Naomi, Chana, Rachel Imeinu, Miriam, Esther and Sara Schneirer. Using pesukim found in “Eishet Chayil,” the narrators clearly explain the strength, courage and valor these women have passed down to us. At the end of the production, Mrs. Peikes highlighted another woman of valor, her mother and former principal of Bruriah, Chaya Newman a”h. This production was always a highlight of the year for her; a time in which she would get much nachas from watching her students. Additionally, this year Bruriah held their first annual art showcase, in which different students got to show their artistic abilities by presenting their various works.
