As part of Bruriah’s ongoing commitment to nurturing students’ social-emotional wellbeing, Bruriah had the privilege to host Sara Schreiber, LCSW, the founder Collaborative Minds Psychotherapy LLC. In a program exclusively for seniors, Sara delved into the life skills necessary for their transition into seminary, college, and beyond.
During the program, students participated in activities that normalized and validated their feelings, articulating potential concerns and issues that could arise in a seminary setting with roommates and friends. Sara introduced and taught two important life skills to the students to practice assertive communication and cope with anxiousness. She also shared tips and strategies to address common issues like homesickness, relocation stress, and their developing independence.
The workshop provided valuable insights, tips and tools, and the students emerged from the workshop feeling more prepared and more empowered as they began their post-high school journey.
