On Yom Hazikaron, Bruriah students heard from Sarri Singer, a survivor of an Israeli bus-bombing terror attack. She told her story and imparted the important lesson of not asking why, but rather for what.
Yom Ha’atzmaut was uplifting, as students of all grades enjoyed Maccabiah games in the theme of Israel, including basketball tic-tac-toe and balloon popping. Sophomore Pearlie Ness said “We had so much fun celebrating Yom Ha’atzmaut in school, while making memories with friends and experiencing what it’s like to be part of a larger whole.” The games ended off with some Israeli-themed treats and a kumzitz.
Ariella Konigsberg is a junior at Bruriah.
